A return to something familiar—rebuilt from the ground up. What was once an oil painting becomes a study in acrylic, texture, and adaptation—pushed forward with palette knives, texture paste, and a willingness to leave the comfort zone behind.
At the center, the cat remains—locked into its moment, having already claimed its prize. But everything around it, and everything within it, has changed.
Built first through atmosphere—layered skies and shifting values—the piece evolves into a tactile composition where texture becomes structure. Color is pushed directly into form, edges are discovered rather than planned, and each decision carries weight. Then comes time.
After stepping away, the work is revisited with clarity—rebuilt where needed, refined where it matters, and brought to a final state through control, restraint, and intention.
